Depression Test

Cynthia Beers believe self-knowledge is a human right and offering information to users regarding their own biological processes can form the foundation of a more positive, empowered, and wellness-oriented life. This is a good thing. It helps align with the intent of the program to make the world a better place.

 

This depression assessment is based on the Depression Screening Test by Ivan Goldberg, M.D.

 

According to the NIMH Major depression is one of the most common mental disorders affecting more than 15 million adults in the United States (~6.7% of the population).  Take this self-assessment test to see if you may be someone who could benefit from the treatment and support of a mental health professional.

 

All results are completely private.

Little interest or pleasure in doing things

Feeling down, depressed, or hopeless

Trouble falling or staying asleep, or sleeping too much

Feeling tired or having little energy

Poor appetite or overeating

Feeling bad about yourself - or that you are a failure or have let yourself or your family down

Trouble concentrating on things, such as reading the newspaper or watching television

Moving or speaking so slowly that other people could have noticed

Thoughts that you would be better off dead, or of hurting yourself
